Achievements
In 2010, the Center completed a five-year strategic plan. Our achievements over the last five years include the following.
- In 2004-5, the Center served 97 schools and presented 11 community programs.
- In 2009-10, the Center served 173 schools and presented 22 community programs.
Since 2005, the Center has created and produced:
- Survival of the Human Spirit: Triumph over Adversity – a traveling exhibit about local Holocaust survivors
- Soulsaving: Common Threads of Kindness – a film on rescue
- The Exhibit: A Journey to Life – a museum exhibit and traveling exhibit featuring Holocaust and genocide survivors
- A Tribute to Holocaust Survivors in Our Community – a book and multi-media presentations
- I Was There – a film presenting World War II veterans’ eyewitness testimonies
- Flowers from the Ashes: A Student Anthology – Volumes III and IV
Also since 2005:
- 72 juvenile offenders have completed the Center’s education program Consequences of Hate and Bias in Our Community with no recidivism.
- 200+ clergy from around the world have completed the Center’s pastoral counseling training.
- 250 additional law enforcement officers have completed the Center's training program with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
- The Center became a site for College and Graduate School Internships including:
- Rutgers University Graduate Library and Information Science
- Georgian Court University
- Monmouth University
- Mt. Holyoke College
- Rider College
- Lafayette College
- The Center became a community service site for the Monmouth County Court System.
- The Center became the first repository in New Jersey for the University of Southern California Shoah Foundation for Visual History and Education with a collection of 156 survivor testimonies. We collect all the testimonies in Monmouth and Northern Ocean counties.
- The Center welcomed a Brookdale Community College Faculty Liaison to its staff, and Brookdale Community College founded a Faculty Advisory Board.
